2025-09-02, 2005h, Linguistic pragmatics and ludimatics

Thinking about the influence that Terry Pratchett has had on my writing, specifically my writing style, and how every sentence can probably be written to be a little fun.

And it made me think about how, in linguistics, there’s the idea of pragmatics, the parts of speech that make it sound human, or whatever. And it makes me wonder about the idea of “ludimatics” or whatever the proper formation would be: the parts of speech that make it feel fun.
