      <description>&lt;p&gt;A practice for designing things that must be simultaneously grounded in:&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;existing standards and prior art (external)&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;the project&amp;rsquo;s own archive and constraints (internal)&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;the current state of formal planning (prospective)&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;/ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;The practice is recursive.
