Singer compiled the method from Basecamp&rsquo;s internal practices and published it in 2019 as <em>Shape Up: Stop Running in Circles and Ship Work that Matters</em>, available free online at basecamp.com/shapeup.</p> <h2 id="core-concepts">Core concepts</h2> <p>Shape Up organizes work into three phases &mdash; shaping, betting, and building &mdash; and structures time into six-week cycles followed by two-week cool-down periods.</p>
