Identify Biological Organization Level
Given a biological question or phenomenon:
- Determine the primary level of organization: molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, organism, population, community, ecosystem, or biosphere.
- Identify which higher and lower levels are relevant (biology is multi-scale — cell processes affect ecosystems, ecosystem conditions affect cells).
- Name the appropriate subdiscipline (molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, ecology, etc.).
- Suggest the key terms and concepts from this vault that apply.
