Defines hardiness zone

A geographic classification based on the average annual minimum winter temperature. The USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map divides North America into zones numbered 1 through 13, each subdivided into “a” and “b” halves. A plant’s hardiness zone rating indicates the coldest zone in which it can survive winter.
