seed packet

Defines seed packet

The packaging in which seeds are sold, containing both the seeds and printed growing information. A seed packet typically lists: the plant species and cultivar name, days to maturity, light requirements, spacing and planting depth, when to sow (relative to frost dates), and a brief description of the plant’s characteristics. Seed catalogs provide the same information in a browsable format, often with more detail on cultivar selection, disease resistance, and regional suitability.
