Serafinski

Serafinski is the pseudonym of the anonymous author of Blessed is the Flame: An Introduction to Concentration Camp Resistance and Anarcho-Nihilism (2016). The text examines acts of resistance within Nazi concentration camps and uses them to develop an anarcho-nihilist politics โ€” one that does not depend on the possibility of victory or a better future to justify action.

Core ideas

  • Anarcho-nihilism: a political orientation that acts against domination without requiring hope, progress, or the expectation of success. Resistance is justified by the conditions it responds to, not by its prospects.
  • Concentration camp resistance: Serafinski documents sabotage, revolt, and refusal within the camps as political acts that cannot be understood through frameworks that measure action by its outcomes.
