Orders

Standardized command texts that distribute intent, tasks, constraints, and synchronization so multiple units can act coherently.
Defines orders, OPORD, FRAGO

Orders are standardized command texts that distribute intent, tasks, constraints, and synchronization so multiple units can act coherently. In western militaries, orders are formats: they compress complexity into predictable sections so that recipients can quickly find what they need.

Orders are not only instructions. They are coordination devices: they create common reference points (time, space, boundaries, priorities) and establish what counts as compliance.
