Western Philosophy
Western Philosophy
Philosophical traditions originating in Europe and its colonial/settler extensions. The bulk of the library’s philosophical content currently lives here because the library was built by people trained in Western academic traditions. That’s a fact about provenance, not about completeness.
Organized into broad lineages: the analytic/continental divide, ethics traditions, logic, epistemology, metaphysics, political philosophy, and Marxism. Each of these contains further subdomains for specific schools, thinkers, and movements.
