Bottom is the empty recognition — the one that nothing satisfies. It is the absurd, the recognition with no content. Bottom entails everything, because from nothing, anything follows.
Bottom arises in Movement I: Logical Origination as a boundary condition of exclusion. Together with Top, Bottom marks the full extent of the relational field. Bottom also serves as the target of denial: to negate a recognition is to find the strongest recognition whose combining with it yields Bottom — the strongest thing incompatible with it.
Choosing (Either) with Bottom leaves any recognition unchanged — Bottom contributes nothing. This makes Bottom the identity element of Either, just as Top is the identity element of Together.
Mathematical correspondence
Bottom is the least element (bottom, ⊥) of the lattice — the identity element of Either. In the Foundation stratum’s acts, Bottom is earned as (Recognition, Nothing) — recognition witnessing Nothing.
