Stabilizes-Between is the condition for self-persistence between dual poles. It names when something can persist as itself rather than collapsing to one extreme or the other — bounded by closure above and interior (Open) below, with these bounds compatible.

Stabilizes-Between arises in Movement II: Structural Stabilization as the full condition on Include. Where Balance ensures that Close and Open do not interfere with each other, Stabilizes-Between ensures that the mediating identity (Include) sits coherently between them. A recognition, taken as it is, occupies a stable position: its interior lies below it, its closure lies above it, and these bounds are compatible.

This condition presupposes Balance — without the compatibility of the dual pair, there is no coherent midpoint to occupy. It recurs at every level of the derivation wherever triadic structure appears: at the stabilization layer (Open, Include, Close), the modal layer (May, Identity, Must), and the meta level.

  • Include — the mediating operator that satisfies this condition
  • Open — the lower pole (interior)
  • Close — the upper pole (closure)
  • Balance — the prerequisite compatibility condition on the dual pair
