Jason Colodne

Co-founder of Colbeck Capital Management; later a figure in the Dream Center / Education Principle Foundation for-profit-college collapse.

Jason Colodne is co-founder and Managing Partner of Colbeck Capital Management, alongside Jason Beckman. Before Colbeck, he was at Goldman Sachs and at Patriarch Partners.

In addition to Colbeck’s role in the 2010 Manwin/MindGeek acquisition financing, Colodne is a significant figure in the Dream Center Education Holdings / Education Principle Foundation case (analyzed in DeVos-backed Deal Would Allow Secretive Non-Profit to Enrich Related for-Profit, Republic Report, 2018, and subsequent court findings). The case involved the conversion of for-profit colleges into a non-profit structure that a federal court found amounted to enrichment of for-profit interests through the non-profit shell — a structural pattern adjacent to the who-benefits analysis of compliance-shell concealment.

Where his role figures

  • Colbeck Capital and the Goldman alumni financing chain — the canonical case.
