A Filter is a Discipline that commutes with all Nuclei and all Flows — maximally compatible with the entire Geometry.

Most Disciplines are compatible with some Flows and some Nuclei. A Filter is a Discipline so well-integrated with the relational field that it is compatible with every Flow and every Nucleus. It does not merely survive some transformations and some consolidations — it survives all of them.

This maximal compatibility is what gives a Filter its power. Because a Filter commutes with everything in the Geometry, what it carves out is not a partial view but a self-contained world — a Profile. A Filter is to Geometry what a frame of reference is to a physical space: a perspective so consistent that it constitutes its own complete picture.
