Relating is an act: the continuous act that sustains the interplay of Including and Excluding, maintaining Coherence.

Coherence exists — the interplay of Including and Excluding is stabilized. But Coherence left undetermined the dynamics by which it is sustained. It describes a configuration but provides no engine.

Given that the sustained coherence of existing is determined by the relation between Inclusion and Exclusion, it cannot not derive a dynamic of determination: the act of Relating. Relating is the continuous act that maintains the interplay between Including and Excluding — the engine that Coherence lacked.

Relating has a property that nothing before it had: it can relate to itself. The act of sustaining the interplay can take its own activity as subject, producing a deeper layer of relating, which can in turn take itself as subject, and so on. This is Reflexive Sequence — indefinitely deep self-relation. It is the first source of depth in the derivation.

Relating is distinct from Relation. Relating is the act; Relation is the condition that Relating establishes.
